Implementing a Multilevel Intervention to Accelerate Colorectal Cancer Screening and Follow-up

Patients with FIT orders receive seven messages over 60 days to remind them to return their kits for testing. Patients with colonoscopy orders receive eight messages to remind them to schedule an appointment for a colonoscopy over 90 days. After confirming their colonoscopy appointment, the patient gets educational messages on bowel preparation.

Patient navigators at our partner FQHCs called patients who received a screening order for more than 60 days but failed to complete it or who had a positive stool-based test and needed a follow-up diagnostic colonoscopy.
